Sapan Verma is one of India’s most popular and experienced English standup comedians and a co-founder of the East India Comedy. He has done over 700 shows not only in 30 cities across India, but also in New York, Paris, Spain, Dubai, Singapore and China.

Sapan has also written, directed and acted in a bunch of online viral videos that have over 1 billion views on YouTube. He was also a regular presenter on NDTV Prime’s news comedy show The Bottom Line.

Apart from headlining shows at The Comedy Store and Canvas Laugh Club Mumbai, Sapan is also a
part of comedy specials such as The Ghanta Awards, EIC vs Bollywood and Backbenchers.

In the past, Sapan has also written funny scripts for Shahrukh Khan, Farhan Akhtar, Ranveer Singh, Arjun Kapoor, Shahid Kapoor, Ayushmann Khurrana, Siddharth Malhotra, Boman Irani and others.He has scripted the IIFA Awards and Like OK Screen Awards twice in a row (2014 and 2015). Apart from these, he has also written Filmfare Awards, Star Guild Awards, GIMA and quite a few other events for Wizcraft and Cineyug.

As a writer, he has worked with TV channels like Channel V, NDTV Goodtimes, UTV Bindass, Colors, Star Plus and Zoom TV too! He has also written humour columns for The Times of India, DNA, Grazia, Maxim, Deccan Chronicle, India Today, JAM Magazine and MTV Noise Factory.

He also teaches filmmaking and scriptwriting to the media students at Jai Hind College because he likes ruining careers.
